Downton Abbey was a ratings powerhouse on both sides of the Atlantic and — if we've learned anything about ratings powerhouses in this age of remakes and reboots — it's that they hardly ever die.
Is there a chance that the popular British period drama about the Crawley family and their extensive community of servants could make it back to the screen — this time, the big screen? According to Michelle Dockery (aka Lady Mary), yes...
"I think there is potential for a film," Dockery told The Telegraph during an interview that mainly centered on other upcoming projects. "That is something I would wholeheartedly consider, so we will see. It may not be over yet." It sounds like there is some interest in a potential Downton Abbey project from those involved in the TV show, but nothing official has been planned.

ITV, the British broadcaster who aired Downton Abbey, and PBS are currently looking to scoop some of the Downton audience up with their upcoming period drama miniseries about the ascension of Queen Victoria starring Doctor Who's Jenna Coleman as the monarch. Victoria premieres at the end of August in the U.K. and in January in the U.S.
As for Dockery, without any Downton Abbey reunion films officially planned, she is focusing her acting talents stateside. She will starring in TNT's upcoming TV drama Good Behavior as drug-abusing con artist Letty Dobesh. It is definitely a departure from the role of Lady Mary, but Dockery is very convincing in the trailer for the TV drama. Check it out...
Dockery is currently in Santa Fe filming Godless, an upcoming Netflix western series co-starring Jack O'Connell and Jeff Daniels. So, Downton Abbey or not, Dockery has plenty of exciting projects to keep her busy...
