Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg will have another TV show in production, this time at FX.
Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg have already forecasted our end times, but their next project will take them into a bleak, AI-led future. The writing partners and producers have reportedly set their sights on a new project, created by comedy writer Sonny Lee, whose credits include Always Sunny, 2 Broke Girls, and Silicon Valley.
According to a Deadline exclusive, FX has ordered a pilot episode of Singularity, a “comedy is set in a future when artificial intelligence greatly surpasses human intelligence, resulting in profound changes to our society.” Rogen and Goldberg weren’t the only ones to be enamored with Lee’s pitch. The project was reportedly in a bidding war and from the sound of it, FX committed just off the pitch alone.
The tone of the pilot is said to be close to Rogen and Goldberg’s 2013 hit comedy This is the End, which is why Lee approached them with the pitch. The comedy duo (their production company is called Grey Banner) will executive produce with Lee.
