Is there any chance Gabriel Luna's Robbie Reyes could spin off from Agents of SHIELD?

Ghost Rider has been one of the most successful parts of Agents of SHIELD season four, a comic book TV show that has had trouble finding and keeping an audience. The addition of such a popular character was a risky decision and hasn't helped in the ratings, but has been met with some critical and fan acclaim.

Whatever happens with Agents of SHIELD, is there a possibility we could get a Ghost Rider standalone series featuring Robbie Reyes? Here's what Gabriel Luna told Comicbook.com...

It’s been talked about, there's definitely deals in place for that potential. But I just take it one day at a time. I have so much fun now I just want to make sure I get these episodes right. If they throw more episodes on my plate, I will do my best to do well with those stories as well.

Guys, it's been talked about. That's not nothing. As for what Luna think would work as a transition from Agents of SHIELD to a possible TV show, he said: "I don’t have a preference. People talk about, 'Ah man he’d be great as a feature,' which is [an] idea, too…It could be in the cinema, it could live on Netflix, whatever it is." Um, let's stay away from the feature route, OK? The ashes are still smoldering on the last cinematic attempt to bring the character to the big screen.

Personally, I'd be up for a Ghost Rider spinoff, especially because it would mean giving that narrative time back to other characters on Agents of SHIELD. It's not that I haven't been a fan of the Robbie Reyes stuff this season, but I think the Ghost Rider stuff has distracted from Agents of SHIELD's roots as an ensemble drama.

There are already so many character to service. Bringing in another and making his character name part of the show's season four presentation has devalued the ensemble aspect of what is one of the only true comic book/superhero ensemble shows on television. But that's just one fan's opinion.
