David Duchovny pointed out on The Simpsons that it is impossible that we are alone in the universe. When you consider the wonders that exist all around us: voodoo priests of Haiti, the Tibetan numerologists of Appalachia, the unsolved mysteries of Unsolved Mysteries. The truth is out there and will be further explored when Amazon starts streaming Unsolved Mysteries in 2017.

The digital rights to the crime documentary series were acquired by FilmRise. Amazon prime is currently streaming episodes from the late 2000s that were hosted by late actor Dennis Farina.

“We are expecting more platforms to stream Unsolved Mysteries in the coming months — both the Dennis Farina versions as well as the Robert Stack versions,” Filmrise CEO Danny Fisher said in a statement. “Unsolved Mysteries is an American tradition that FilmRise is excited to preserve.”

Unsolved Mysteries was created by John Cosgrove and Terry Dunn Meurer and explored unsolved crimes, paranormal incidents, and conspiracy theories. It was hosted by Robert Stack from 1987 to 2002, Farina hosting from 2008 to 2010. It aired 572 episodes on NBC (1988–1997), CBS (1997–1999), Lifetime (2001–2002), and Spike (2008 – 2010). Unsolved Mysteries was nominated for an Emmy every year from 1989–1993 and again in 1995.

The show’s official website is still active for people want to pitch tips.
