Girls doesn't return until February for its final season, but HBO is giving us small teases of Girls season 6.

GirlsSeason 6 will be the show's swan song. According to Deadline,the decision was easy for HBO as well as the producers.
The hit comedy put Lena Dunham on the map and became very popular very quickly, but it seems that the show is just going to close out naturally. It’s safe to assume Dunham herself is on board with the final chapter of Girls. She has hinted on previous occasions that the show would probably end after the sixth season. In an interview with Elvis Duran on z100, Dunham said “Never say never, but that is the way that we’re thinking about it right now, and we’re starting to think about sort of how to wrap up the storylines of these particular young women.”
In other interviews, Dunham has spoke to her connection with the characters and is intent on making sure she closes out the show with more of a fadeout than a door slam.
At the end of the fourth season, Girls left Shosh heading to Japan for a new job. Marnie is still engaged to Desi, we are not quite sure where Jessa is, and Hannah might be in her first healthy relationship. There is definitely a lot to work with, especially since the end of the fourth season skipped sixth months into the future. We know that Shosh will be in Japan and Marnie will be getting married, though we’re not quite sure what Hannah will be up to but it will probably involve Fran. Although the characters in Girlsare not known for “growth” the end of the fourth season did leave some footprints of that. They are getting older and later into their twenties and although it’s tragic and entertaining to see them stumble, if the series is on its way out then something needs to happen.
The desire of having a natural close to the show means Dunham most likely made the fifth season with that in mind. In the new season we should begin to see the closing of the book.
