Marvel's Luke CageSeason 2 is officially going ahead at Netflix. This shouldn't surprise anybody, considering the strong viewership and positive critical reaction the show received. In fact, the show about the man with unbreakable skin managed to "break" Netflix during its opening weekend. We'll next see Mike Colter's Luke Cage in 2017's The Defenders, alongside other Marvel Netflix superheroes like Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Iron Fist. The Defenders is currently in production, which means that the "coming soon" we see in the Pops' Barber Shop window is kind of a relative thing.
Luke Cage Season 2 Release Date
There's no release date info at the moment, other than the "coming soon" promised in the video. However, don't expect to see Luke Cage Season 2 before 2018. Marvel's 2017 Netflix calendar is already packed with the debut of Iron Fist in March, and the debuts of both The Punisherand The Defenderslater that year. Basically, expect Luke Cage Season 2 to be part of the "phase two" of the Marvel Netflix project alongside DaredevilSeason 3 and Jessica Jones Season 2.
