Power Rangers Ninja Steel Trailer, Release Date, and Episode Guide

The next version of Power Rangers is coming sooner than you think! Saban Brands' partnership with Nickelodeon is continuing through at least 2018, so Power Rangers isn’t going anywhere for the foreseeable future. This will keep Power Rangers on Nickelodeon for the franchise's 25^th anniversary and the release of the big budget movie (coming in March 2017). So now that Dino Charge has reached its conclusion, it's time to get ready for Power Rangers Ninja Steel!

Power Rangers Ninja Steel Release Date

Thanks to Nick and More, we know the first episode of Power Rangers Ninja Steel will air on January 21st, 2017 followed by the second episode on Janurary 28th, 2017. We've also got descriptions of the first two episodes thanks to Nick and More as well!

Power Rangers Ninja Steel Episode 1 "Return of the Prism"

A young teen named Brody escapes to Earth from an alien spaceship with a special artifact called the Ninja Nexus Prism. He and two new friends must unlock its secrets to defend it from the villainous champion Galvanax.

Power Rangers Ninja Steel Episode 2 "Forged in Steel"

As Brody, Preston, and Sarah return to Brody's childhood home in an attempt to find his lost family, Hayley and Calvin come across a strange alien named Mick.

Anyone else getting a bit of a Guardians of the Galaxy vibe off Brody's story there? As for the alien named Mick, is this a new civilian side character? Is it a mispelling of Mig, the Fearcat we glimpsed in the trailer? Speaking of which, courtesy of Nickelodeon and Saban Brands, we have an exclusive first look at the Power Rangers Ninja Steel trailer. Watch it here...

Here's the official synopsis: 

"With the franchise’s 24th season, Saban Brands' Power Rangers Ninja Steel starts deep in space, where Galvanax is the reigning champion of the most popular intergalactic game show in the universe in which monsters battle to prove who is the mightiest warrior. Galvanax is determined to become invincible by controlling the mythical Ninja Nexus Prism, which contains six supernatural Ninja Power Stars. The only thing standing in his way is a new team of heroic teenage Power Rangers who possess it. The evil Galvanax sends his warrior contestants down to Earth to steal the Ninja Power Stars, where each epic battle against the Power Rangers is broadcast throughout the universe. Together, the Rangers must master their arsenal of Ninja Power Stars, Zords and Megazords, each made of legendary Ninja Steel, in order to stop this evil threat and save Earth from destruction."

The trailer doesn't give us many shots of the new Ninja Steel team, but we do get a few glimpses that provide some clues. First off, the Blue Ranger is dressed in a fancy suit. This could mean his character is close to his Sentai counterpart, who was an uptight wizard.

The biggest moment that will leave Power Rangers fans either excited or scratching their heads is a very quick shot of the Rangers fighting what very closely resembles one of the Fearcats (specifically Mig) from Power Rangers Operation Overdrive. What is a Fearcat doing there? Is it just another repurposed monster suit, or does one of the villains of Overdrivehave something to do with Galvanax? It is possible it's just another of the Fearcats race, but Dino Charge also featured an important villain from a previous season in the background of a scene, so who knows?

The real question on fans minds is will this season feature dinosaurs walking around the Earth after the events of Dino Charge's finale?
