You can't keep a good witch down. Salem followers petition WGN to save the series before the hive starts stinging.

Some people don’t want their curses lifted. Look at the character Hathorne on Salem, which was recently put on the chopping block at WGN: The witch Mercy Lewis offered to free him from his bondage and the pain and humiliation of a debilitating disease on her death bed. Hathorne preferred to live in that bondage and even started up a blood drive to save her life. Well, the same can be said for fans of Salem.
Salem superfan Tim Heritage started a petition to save the pagan-positive period piece called, “#RenewSalemWGN for season 4 on Netflix." The petition started with a single signature and grew 867 supporters within a day. Okay, and also I know that the idea of pagans and Satan is not particularly good press for the wiccan community, but remember that some of the demons Christians fear were reimagined from the gods that were revered by other culture’s faiths.
“The Initial goal is to get Salem renewed for a 4th season,” reads the petition. Heritage and the other undersigned don’t care whether the show comes back on WGN America or Netflix, they just want it renewed.
From the word go, Salemhas had such outstanding characters,” the petition continues. “The performances from the actors are far beyond any show” the undersigned have “seen this decade.”
“It wasn’t just about bloody horror. It was about actual historical events and the power struggles between mortals and witches in their daily lives.”
Followers of the show responded to how the witches empowered women, “and this is what society needs more of as a whole,” the petition reads
The plea points out that Salem is “the highest rated original scripted show on WGNAmerica,” specifying that the series has ten times more “followers that any other WGNAmerica scripted show has airing at the moment.”
Like all spellbound sorcery fans, the Salem petitioners have had enough “of shows about witches always on the chopping block. Enough is Enough,” he warns. “You don’t mess with the Hive. This isn’t over Heathens, Blessed Be and may our Hive become stronger and stronger. #RenewSalemWGN”
Heritage wants the signees to be respectful and not cast any dark workings. The petition will be delivered to Netflix, NetflixPR and WGNAmerica.
TV fans aren’t the only ones begging to stay under the spell of the seductive sorceresses. Marie Bargas, the once and former Hollywood Witch who's appeared on Entertainment Tonight and Extra!, promises that “the witch community is watching this very closely.” Much like The Sentinel on Salem.
Salem “boldly re-imagines the infamous 17th century witch trials in colonial Massachusetts in a world where witches are real, but they are not who or what they seem,” reads the series overview.
“The third season of Salem dawns with the triumph of the witches' plan to remake the New World by bringing the devil to earth and making Salem his capital. But the devil is a liar, and instead of a New World free from murderous Puritan hypocrisy, his own plan will bring nothing but death and slavery with the ultimate aim of leading humanity to destroy itself. And there's only one person on earth who can beat the devil -- the very witch that birthed him, his mother, Mary Sibley. The only problem is—she's dead. Or is she?”
