We have the complete list of nominees for next year's Golden Globes. La La Land looks favored... but Deadpool is a Best Picture nominee?!

It’s always odd how quickly one highly fraught political season dovetails into another. Yes, the worst U.S. election in memory is over, but now the real desperation and jockeying for position begins… in Hollywood, at least. It’s awards season! As such, beyond the critics’ groups, the first major industry barometer of who is in good position for the Oscar gold finish line is the Hollywood Foreign Press’ Golden Globes.
The 74th Golden Globes Air Date and Network
The 74th Golden Globes is just around the corner. Seriously, it’s right after the New Year on Jan. 8, 2017, and airs on NBC.

The 74th Golden Globes Nominations
In addition to it being another great year for Meryl Streep, as she is picking up the Globes’ lifetime achievement trophy, the Cecil B. DeMille award, the Globes also look keen on honoring La La Land since it leads the nominations count with seven total races in contention. But hey, I’m not complaining since it was my favorite movie of the year, too. Moonlight has six nominations as well under its belt, and on the TV side, The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story enjoys an impressive five nominations; The Night Manager has meanwhile captured four nods of its own.
On the nerdy side of things, Game of Thrones and Westworld both picked up three nominations, with Evan Rachel Wood being a potential frontrunner in her category considering she just won the Critics Choice Award, and given how the HFPA loves being the first to give an award to somebody new in television. Stranger Things also picked up two nominations (Best Drama, Best Actress for Winona Ryder). But, I’m sure, what will make geeks most happy is that Deadpool earned two nominations of its own… Best Picture and Best Actor?!
Sure, these are in the “Comedy or Musical” category, which allows the HFPA to spread the love around to 10 nominees (some with more ratings-friendliness), but yeah… if Ryan Reynolds doesn’t make a viral video about this, I’ll eat my Deadpool mask! (I’d also have to buy one first).
