Black Sunday is coming to Salem and humanity lies in the balance.

Mary Sibley and her bewitched followers have less than 24 hours to save Salem starting in the New Year. After that, the new world will awaken to a new age. That is, if they wake up at all. The French-Indian forces got their hands on Red Mercury and it’s blasting power is enough to send the whole of New England to Hell. WGN released the trailer for the final four episodes of Salem.
“Anne tells Cotton the great news of her pregnancy but is forced to partake in an unthinkable action that will wipe Gloriana of her memories,” reads the officials synopsis of “The Man Who Was Thursday.”
“While Alden prepares to kill the Sentinel, Mary continues to trick Sebastian into thinking she loves him. Completely “under her spell,” Sebastian tells her that he will find a way to destroy the Boy once and for all where an epic plan of twists and turn unravel and true loyalties surface.”
At its heart, Salem is a spellbinding love story set in desperate times. The press release talks of Sebastian being under the spell of the most powerful of the Essex witches, but it is a spell he happily succumbs to. Cotton Mather, the son of the late, but most revered, witch hunter Increase Mather is under the influence of his wife, pregnant with his son, even if it may not be hers. But he also willingly let himself go under her thrall once the booze wore off and he sent his fallen lover packing. Loving witches doesn't have to be so hard.
“The Man Who Was Thursday” was written by Kelly Sounders and Brian Peterson, and directed by Jen Lynch, (Boxing Helena, Surveillance).
Here is the trailer for the final four episodes:
Salem “boldly re-imagines the infamous 17th century witch trials in colonial Massachusetts in a world where witches are real, but they are not who or what they seem,” reads the series overview.
“The third season of Salem dawns with the triumph of the witches' plan to remake the New World by bringing the devil to earth and making Salem his capital. But the devil is a liar, and instead of a New World free from murderous Puritan hypocrisy, his own plan will bring nothing but death and slavery with the ultimate aim of leading humanity to destroy itself. And there's only one person on earth who can beat the devil -- the very witch that birthed him, his mother, Mary Sibley. The only problem is—she's dead. Or is she?”
