This is nothing to worry about, but HBO is waiting on that Game of Thrones Season 8 confirmation.

It shouldn't be remotely surprising to anyone between here and Westeros that Game of Thrones Season 8 is going to happen. It's been known for some time now that Game of Thrones Season 8 would be the final one, and that's part of the reason why HBO hasn't officially locked it up yet.
While most Game of Thrones seasons consist of 10 episodes each, seasons 7 and 8 will be shorter, allowing the showrunners more lead time to get their endgame together. So while we know that season 7 is coming this summer, HBO is still hesitating to announce an official pickup for Game of Thrones Season 8. But don't worry.
“The only thing we’re working out is how many episodes they want to do,” HBO programming president Casey Bloys told TV Line at the TCA Winter Tour. “They’re still figuring it out because I think they’re trying to get a shape of the season...They always do what they think [will yield] the best version of the show. It’s all about how many they’re comfortable [with]. But I’ll always take more.”
The initial buzz was that Game of Thrones Season 8 could consist of as little as six episodes, but we might end up with more than that after all.

Meanwhile, the sixth book in George R.R. Martin's series is still being written, but might finally arrive this year. Whether it shows up before Game of Thrones Season 8 is anybody's guess.
We'll update this with official confirmation when we get it, but really, do you even need it? Of course not. It's happening.
Meanwhile, here's everything we know about season 7 to keep you occupied.
