According to a Syfy press release, The Magicians season 2 sees Quentin and the gang "thrust into even more dangerous and unfamiliar territory" to defeat a threat that could "destroy the magical world itself." That was made immediately clear as the season began in Fillory: a great additional setting for the show.
The Magicians stars Jason Ralph as Quentin Coldwater, alongside with Stella Maeve, Olivia Taylor Dudley, Hale Appleman, Arjun Gupta, and Summer Bishil. With slight variations from the novels, The Magicians follows Quentin as he enters the world of Brakebills College, a secret upstate New York university specializing in magic, and continues in Fillory in season 2.

The first highlighted character presented for The Magicians season 2 was an ethereal creature known only as "The White Lady." The actor behind the Fillory native is Emma Dumont of Aquarius fame. To see how this being was brought to life, check out this behind the scenes video.
