The Hot Tub Time Machine 2 stars Scott and Robinson will play comedic versions of Mulder and Scully on the Fox paranormal comedy.
Joining Andy Samberg, Will Forte, and Jason Sudeikis, two more ex-NBC series stars, Parks and Recreation‘s Adam Scott and The Office‘s Craig Robinson, are heading to Fox for a new comedy series.
Scott and Robinson will try to put a comedic twist on the Mulder and Scully dynamic, signing on to star in the paranormal-themed comedy series, Ghosted. Taking a cue from The X-Files, Robinson will play a skeptic and Scott, the true believer in a pair hired by a Los Angeles organization called the Underground Investigative Service to explore several unexplained paranormal events in the city. Their discoveries lead to a larger threat that could have major implications on all humanity.

The project comes for Robinson after his NBC star vehicle Mr. Robinson was unceremoniously cancelled, though he is enjoying a high-profile guest stint on the buzz-worthy Mr. Robot. Scott’s TV credits as of late have been mostly limited to Adult Swim one-off projects, though he can next be seen in the HBO limited series Big Little Lies, starring Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon.
Scott and Robinson will executive produce Ghosted alongside Scott’s wife, producer Naomi Scott. Tom Gormican (That Awkward Moment) will also executive produce as well as pen the script. The single-camera comedy has received a pilot commitment from Fox.
The project reunites Scott and Robinson, who last worked together on 2015’s Hot Tub Time Machine 2.
