Former President Selina Meyer plans comeback with Veep season 6 release date.

President Selina Meyer will look back on a short legacy as commander-in-chief of the United States after an unprecedented turn in the elections, but Julia Louis-Dreyfuss continues to serve as First Lady of TV Comedy. The actress announced the Veep season 6 release date on HBO.
“Extra! Extra! Read all about it! New season of veep!” Dreyfus tweeted on February 7.
Veep season 6 premieres on Sunday, April 16 at 10:30 p.m.
Veep season 6 will run 10 episodes and follow the former vice president’s first post-Presidential year. Meyer was never actually voted into office, she got the job on the heels of a presidential scandal that left her in charge. Her successor got in when Washington couldn’t break a tie.
Dreyfus won the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for the fifth year in a row in September and pulled in the SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series last month.
Veep won two best comedy Emmys and took home the best directing comedy series trophy at Saturday’s DGA Awards
Blunt Talk’s Mary Holland will play a high powered political fundraiser on Veep season 6. There is no word on whether she will be raising funds for the now-ex-POTUS.

Veep was created by Armando Iannucci who was nominated for an Academy Award for co-writing the Tony Blaire era political film In the Loop.The new showrunner is David Mandel, who ran Larry David’s HBO series Curb Your Enthusiasm.
Veep Season 6 Premiere Date
Veep season 6 premieres on Sunday, April 16 at 10:30 p.m. There is no word on when Silicon Valley, Veep’s usual Sunday-night companion comedy, will premiere. Winter comes to Game of Thronesthis summer.
