DC superhero Static Shock is finally getting a complete first season DVD release.
Time to fight the criminals and chase the bad guys! The superhero Static Shock(woo woo!) is finally coming to DVD in his first complete season. It's been a long wait for Static Shock fans. Back in 2004, Warner DVD released a single disc of Static Shock with only six episodes. Since then, fans haven't been able to legally obtatin this complete entry of the DC animated universe, but that's about to change.
Warner Archive, known for releasing cult favorites that might not otherwise get an official DVD set, announced that Static Shock: The Complete First Season would be released on March 28th, 2017. This release will contain the first season's thirteen episodes on MOD (manufacture on demand) discs and will cost $24.95. No word of bonus features, but those aren't common on Warner Archive releases.

Based on characters from the DC Comics series, superhero Virgil Hawkins and his classmates confront real problems and issues faced by today's teens: peer pressure, gangs and growing up in an ethnically diverse, urban neighborhood.
Does this mean season's two, three, and four will also be coming to DVD to complete the series' fifty episode run on home media? No word on any other releases at this time, but keep in mind that Warner Archive has been good at finishing releases. If they can release all of Superboy on DVD, it's a safe bet all of Static Shockwill get released as well. You can order it at Warner Archive. If nothing else, and if physical media isn't your thing, you can get all the episodes digitally on Amazon.
Hopefully this means that there's some movement on the live action Static Shock digital series that WB hinted at back in 2015, too.
