Channel Zero, an anthology series based on creepypasta stories, seriously disturbs in this first trailer...

Update 1 - 09.03.16:

I'm glad we live in a world where studios are now using creepypastas as ideas for movies, TV shows, and video games. Syfy's Channel Zero is one such show, which was created by Nick Antosca (Hannibal) and Max Landis (Chronicle).

The network has released a new trailer for the show, and it's by far one of the most disturbing things I've ever seen. It stars a creature called the Tooth Child, which looks like it belongs in a really fucked up X-Files episode. It's almost too painful to watch, but here it is anyway:

The first season is inspired by a creepypasta called "Candle Cove" by Kris Straub. Here's the official synopsis:

Channel Zero: Candle Coveis based on Kris Straub’s unnerving short story from creepypasta that gained notoriety online. It centers on one man’s obsessive recollection of a mysterious children’s television program from the 1980s – and his ever-growing, dreadful suspicions about the role it might have played in a series of nightmarish and deadly events from his childhood.

I'm already so creeped out by this trailer. I can't wait to watch this in a few weeks! The show premieres on Sept. 27.

Original Story - 11.18.15:

Syfy has greenlit a new horror anthology series from the minds of Nick Antosca (Hannibal) and Max Landis (Chronicle). The series will be called Channel Zero, and it uses a frame story of a man’s obsession with “mysterious television programs from the 1980s and his ever-growing suspicions about the role it might have played in a series of nightmarish” events from his childhood.

The first season will be six episodes long, according to Syfy. Landis and Antosca will exec produce the show.

“As lifelong fans of experimental horror and science fiction from The Twilight Zone to Tales from the Cryptwe are overjoyed to have the opportunity to offer exposure to a new generation of creators,” said the duo. Channel Zero is a great opportunity to explore new frontiers in the genre in a way that allows us to really dig in and get weird.”

And they have big plans for the first and (tentative) second seasons of the show. Season 1 will be based on a creepypasta story called "Candle Cove" by Kris Straub. It will air in Fall 2016.

We'll report more on this one as soon as we learn it!
