The fan favorite Cartoon Network series returns in video game form.

The crystal gems always save the day and now they'll be doing it in the real way on consoles. That's right, this summer the fan favorite Steven Universe is becoming an RPG. Titled Steven Universe: Save The Light, this game functions as a sequel to the Steven Universe mobile game, Attack The Light.
In that game, Steven functioned as a cheerleader (of course he did) for Garnet, Amethyst, and Paerl, giving out power-ups, and items while the Gems took on the enemies.
This time around, from the screenshots provided, Steven looks to be getting in on the action along with other side characters including Greg Universe and Connie. As evidenced by Connie's sword, we know this game will take place at least during season two of the series.

Could other Gems and characters make an appearance? In the background of one of the shots we see Lars and Sadie outside the big donut, so maybe others will at least show up in cameos.
Series creator Rebecca Sugar contributed an original story for the game, which should excite hardcore fans of the television series.
No word on which consoles the game is coming to or a release date. Stay tuned to Den of Geek for more and make sure to check out our Steven Universe reviews as well.
