The Defender of the Universe is needed once more. Classic episodes of Voltron will stream on Netflix starting this Friday!
While Voltron: Legendary Defender has quickly become one of our favorite shows around here, Netflix is making sure to also take care of classic Voltron fans. This Friday they'll be releaseing twelve classic episodes of the original series (now dubbed Voltron 84) on the streaming service. Not only that, but they'll be introduced the cast and creative team of the new series. Check out the reveal video below.

No words yet on which of the classic episodes will be released but it's a fair guess to say the opening episodes will be included since they set up the original series pretty well.
It's great that Netflix is doing this for classic Voltron fans, since the episodes haven't been available for easy streaming anywhere else in quite awhile. A previous announcement had also said more episodes should be coming later in the year. If we include Vehicle Voltron, that means there's still 118 episodes of Voltron left to stream on Netflix.
If you're loving the new series on Netflix, this is a great chance to check out the original series that inspired it.
