Attack on Titan is back, and we've got all the news and info on when and where to watch.

Editor's note: This article is our news hub for Attack on Titan season 2 and will be updated to reflect new information.
Attack on Titan season 1 took the Internet by storm in late-2013 with its high concept apocalyptic premise, drool-worthy animation, and sick metal opening theme song. Since then, it's spawned a number of video games, several attempts at live-action adaptions, a crossover with Marvel Comics, and a fanbase so undying that at one point we could actually amass ourselves into one titanic super being and eat our ways through the squads of haters (metaphorically). Good times.
Now after an unusually long four year hiatus (four whole years, four), our favorite anime about man-eating titans versus parkour-inclined soldiers is finally coming back...
Attack on Titan Season 2 Only 12 Episodes
In a somewhat disappointing turn of event, there will only be 12 episodes of the second season of Attack on Titan, according to the studio, which confirmed the episode count in this tweet yesterday. Animation creator Thomas Romain (Oban Star Racers) further explained in this Tweet that this reduction in episode count is due to budgetary reasons.
Meanwhile, check out the official synopsis of season 2 from Funimation:
"Eren Jaeger swore to wipe out every last Titan, but in a battle for his life he wound up becoming the thing he hates most. With his new powers, he fights for humanity's freedom facing the monsters that threaten his home. After a bittersweet victory against the Female Titan, Eren finds no time to rest—a horde of Titans is approaching Wall Rose and the battle for humanity continues!"
