The first Preacher Season 2 trailer has a lively pop tune and, you know, lots of violence.
PreacherSeason 2 was confirmed by AMC long before we got to the first season finale. Preacherhas been one of the strangest little shows on TV, and it's far from a straight adaptation of the comic book source material. Even if you're a fan of the books, the show is taking a different route to its big story, so there's plenty to keep you guessing.
Oh, and they'll have more episodes to do it with. PreacherSeason 2 will feature 13 episodes instead of 10. So here's a whopping 30 seconds of the 13 hours of sacreligious TV we're going to get this summer.
So, while this doesn't reveal a whole helluva lot, we're definitely going to get more of the Saint of Killers this time around. But more importantly, it looks like we're going to meet the secret organization, The Grail. And if The Grail are coming to TV, then Herr Starr is coming with them. We have a little bit more on him down below.
The press release describes this season as "genre-bending thrill ride that follows West Texas preacher Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper), his badass ex-girlfriend Tulip (Academy Award® nominee Ruth Negga) and an Irish vampire named Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun) as they embark on a road trip to find God and are thrust into a twisted battle spanning Heaven, Hell and everywhere in between."
So, basically what we expected.

They've added six new actors to the cast to play new characters since, y'know, not many survived season one. Noah Taylor (Game of Thrones, Deep Water), Pip Torrens (Star Wars: The Force Awakens, The Crown) and Julie Ann Emery (Fargo, Better Call Saul) have signed on as series regulars, and Malcolm Barrett (War on Everyone, Dear White People), Justin Prentice (13 Reasons Why, Malibu Country), and Ronald Guttman (Homeland, Mozart in the Jungle) in recurring roles.
Now, there aren't any character details available at the moment, but, Pip Torrens...
...kinda looks like he'd be a good fit for Herr Starr, doesn't he?
