It's felt like a soap opera, but the Twin Peaks revival is finally on track. Production on the new season of Mark Frost and David Lynch's damn fine cult drama is underway. The Twin Peaks revival was officially pushed back until May 2017. So maybe the #TwinPeaks2016 hashtags were a bit ambitious. CBS head honcho Les Moonves confirmed the news to Variety, though if you followed your leads like Dale Cooper, you'd have seen this coming for some time.

It's been quite a crazy two years for Twin Peaks fans. First, it seemed as though David Lynch left production only a few months after the continuation on Showtime had been announced. Then Showtime and Lynch reconciled, and the auteur was back. Now in the process of filming, we'll be constantly updating this hub as your souce for Twin Peaks Season 3 news...

Kyle MacLachlan will return for a damn fine cup of coffee as FBI Agent Dale Cooper.

Along with MacLachlan, Sherilyn Fenn was one of the first series regulars to sign on. Deadline reported that she'll reprise her role as Audrey Horne.

Clearly Albert Rosenfield did not get enough of the morons and half-wits, dolts, dunces, dullards and dumbbells in the town of Twin Peaks. Deadline is reporting that Miguel Ferrer will reprise his role as FBI Agent Albert Rosenfield for the Twin Peaks revival. Ferrer has recently been a regular on NCIS: Los Angeles

Among the other rumored returnees: Sheryl Lee, who played Laura Palmer, was photographed by paparazzi filming scenes with MacLachlan.

Oscar-nominated actress Laura Dern (Enlightened) will join the revival in a mysterious role according to a report from TVLine. There's a theory floating around that Dern will play Agent Cooper’s previously unseen secretary Diane. In what could be a nice ode, Dern and Kyle MacLachlan teamed up in David Lynch’s cult classic Blue Velvet.

Meanwhile, David Lynch is returning to play FBI chief Gordon Cole! Watch him eat a donut in the video below:

According to EW, a source revealed that Jim Belushi (According to Jim) has been added to the show’s roster.
