If you've been checking back here for updates, you know that Rick and Morty season 3 is already written, and at least one episode is already completed (it aired in April 1st, and our review is here). The creatives are waiting on the animation team to finish their work so we can all enjoy new episodes.

Rick and Morty Season 3 Release Date
At the end of season two, Mr. Poopybutthole said Rick and Morty season 3 wouldn't happen for another year and a half... so March 2017. After targeting the end of 2016, production delays pushed Rick and Morty season 3 closer to that butthole's prediction.
I guess Mr. Poopybutthole is some kind of psychic. Rick and Morty season 3 aired its first episode in a surprise event on April 1st. During the commercial break, they announced that the season will officially debut this summer.

Rick and Morty Season 3 Episode Guide
At a Magic City Comic Con panel, Harmon revealed that Rick and Morty season 3 will comprise 14 episodes. Season 1 ran for 11 episodes, while season 2 was cut down to 10.
