The mighty Peter Capaldi has been chatting about his regeneration, and how this time around the process might be a bit different.

“There’s this notion now that it’s the same process he’s gone through every time, and that’s not true”, he told The New York Times. “It’s only the last couple of regenerations that have been, as it were, fairly straightforward ones. I can’t go into the details of a lot of it, because I know what happens, but I don’t know how it happens.”

Capaldi also touched upon his reasoning behind leaving the show at this point:

They asked me to stay on. And I love this show. But I began to get worried about my capacity to deliver my best work. The schedule is very intense, and I began to wonder, how many different ways can I find to say, "The time vortex is going to open up and destroy the entire universe as we know it, unless we blow up that model spaceship over there?" It concerned me that if I did more, yes, I’d be able to do it, but I’d just be phoning it in. And I didn’t ever want to be in that situation.

That's a noble decision, then. Most Doctors since the start of NuWho have left after three series on the show, besides Christopher Eccleston, who left the show after just one season, so Capaldi's exit doesn't come as a surprise.

You can now watch episodes of Classic Doctor Who on BritBox!

We'll definitely miss Mr. Capaldi in the role, but we hope he's on to bigger and better things. Fortunately, we still have at least one more series with the Twelfth Doctor!

This next trailer speaks emoji! It also has some glimpses at Missy, Daleks, and Cybermen. Basically, there is a lot going on. Check it out...

Here's another trailer. It features the Doctor's new companion, Bill Potts, who is really loving her time in the TARDIS. Check out the trailer below:

“The first time you meet him, he’s funny,” Bill says, referring, of course, to the Doctor. “The second time, he’s amazing. The third time, you realize he’s the most dangerous man in the universe. He says he’s a man of peace, but he walks in war. I’m having the time of my life, and I wouldn’t miss it for the world — even if it kills me.”

We can't wait to see what the Doctor, Bill, and Nardole get up to in a few weeks!

Here's the first trailer for the new series:
