Good news! Hap and Leonard Season 3 is officially happening!
Well, sometimes we get to report good news around here. SundanceTV has renewed one of the most underrated shows of the "peak TV" era. Hap and Leonard Season 3 is confirmed for 2018.
Appropriately enough, Hap and Leonard Season 3 will be based on the third book in the series from celebrated crime and horror author Joe R. Lansdale, The Two-Bear Mambo. Season two was subtitled Mucho Mojo after the second book in the series. Season one was based on the first book, Savage Season. You should read Joe R. Lansdale's books, by the way. Among other things, his work is behind great movies like Bubba Ho-Tep and Cold in July, the latter of which was directed by Hap and Leonard executive producer Jim Mickle.

Hap and Leonard Season 3 Release Date
Right now, all they're telling us is 2018. We expect these to show up in February or March each year, and we'll update this when we have confirmation.
