Showtime has announced that Billions Season 3 will air in 2018.

Billions has quietly developed a devoted following over the course of its two seasons on Showtime. While it doesn't pull in the kinds of numbers that something like Game of Thrones does over on rival network HBO, there's something to be said for quality, and the increasingly vocal Billions fans has helped with the show's success. As a result, Showtime was confident enough in the show to make Billions Season 3 a reality, renewing the series back in March.
Showtime’s David Nevins said back in March when the renewal was announced:
“Billions continues to be a show on the rise, growing not only in audience, but in critical buzz and cultural relevance. It offers a unique mix of pure entertainment with sly commentary on our current have/have-not economy. Season 2 is off to a tremendous start, and has only whetted our audience’s appetite for what will come in Season 3.”
The show centers around the ongoing war between billionaire hedge fund operator Bobby “Axe” Axelrod (Damian Lewis) and U.S. Attorney Chuck Rhoades (Paul Giamatti) as the latter tries to nail Axelrod on his questionable tactics. Also starring on the series are Maggie Siff as Rhoades’ estranged wife -- and a former performance coach at Axelrod’s fund -- and Malin Akerman (Watchmen) as Axelrod’s fiercely protective spouse. They'll presumably be back as well for a third helping of politics, corruption and lots of money.
There's not a whole lot of info out there at the moment, but we do know that Asia Kate Dillon, who plays Taylor Mason on the show, has been upped to series regular for Billions Season 3 (h/t Deadline). Expect some other changes, as well.
Billions Season 3 Release Date
Both of the previous seasons have arrived in the winter, and we don't know of any reason why that would change this time around. For now, you can pencil in Billions Season 3 for January or February 2018. We'll update this with a firm premiere date as soon as we have it.
