The Kid Who Would Be King is set to shoot this summer, and Joe Cornish is on the lookout for the film's leads...

It’s taken a while, but following his impressive movie directorial debut – 2011’s Attack The Block– Joe Cornish is stepping back behind the camera.
He’s going to direct The Kid Who Would Be King, a film that’s being described as a “family fantasy action-adventure movie about a band of young kids embarking on an epic quest to thwart a Medieval menace.” We’re in.
This all came courtesy of a casting notice that appeared on Twitter, which is calling for interested boys and girls, aged 10-15, to play the lead roles. Cornish's first film gave a break to a then-unknown by the name of John Boyega, of course.
Cornish has written the script for the new film, which is being produced by Working Title and Big Talk Pictures (the latter of which backed Attack The Block). The plan is to shoot The Kid Who Would Be King this summer, and we’d hope therefore for a release in 2018. We’ll keep you posted as we hear more…
