Adult Swim just put out a Rick and Morty based promo for Alien: Covenant that is really just a funny new Rick and Morty scene. There’s a face hugger in it but no actual footage of the film. In fact, I’d say it promotes drug and alcohol abuse more than it does Alien: Covenant.

This definitely falls under the "weird marketing" category, and it's not even the weirdest thing the studio has done to try and sell the franchise in its increasingly long history. We wrote more about that stuff here.
