The latest teaser for the Twin Peaks revival gives us our first glimpses at new and returning cast members.

It's felt like a soap opera, but the Twin Peaks revival is finally on track. Production on the new season of Mark Frost and David Lynch's damn fine cult drama is underway. The Twin Peaks revival was officially pushed back until May 2017. So maybe the #TwinPeaks2016 hashtags were a bit ambitious. CBS head honcho Les Moonves confirmed the news to Variety, though if you followed your leads like Dale Cooper, you'd have seen this coming for some time.
It's been quite a crazy two years for Twin Peaks fans. First, it seemed as though David Lynch left production only a few months after the continuation on Showtime had been announced. Then Showtime and Lynch reconciled, and the auteur was back. Now in the process of filming, we'll be constantly updating this hub as your souce for Twin Peaks Season 3 news...
Twin Peaks Season 3 News: The Latest
We've got some new images and they're all of returning fan favorite characters.

Ben Horne still has the letters that spell his name? Amazing.

He may have a little more facial hair, but Dr. Jacoby looks damn near the same as he did twenty five years ago.

This shot looks like it comes after a clip we saw from one of the teasers with Sarah Palmer picking up some alcohol. Did she really spend over $133 on it? Has she been drinking herself to death ever since Laura died?

For those looking at the photo very closely, it looks like Gordon Cole is now Deputy Director of the FBI instead of Regional Bureau Chief.
A new teaser just dropped that not only shows off some returning characters (including Albert!) but also some new ones.
These trailers continue to be more moody than revealing the plot, but the teases are more than enough for hardcore Twin Peaks fans.
In an article for Variety, a few new clues were let slip about the new season. First off, Showtime CEO David Nevins confirmed that Gordon Cole (played by David Lynch) will be "pretty prominent". Cole was only a supporting character in the first two seasons so why would such a big figure in the FBI be around Twin Peaks so much? Well, according to Nevins, "there are different threads in different parts of the U.S. It does not go outside the U.S., but it is in multiple locations in the U.S."
A final clue is that Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me is very important to understanding what will be coming when the series returns. Does that mean much of the mythology created for that film will have a bearing on the Twin Peaks continuation? We'll have to wait and see.
We also have another teaser trailer for Twin Peaks season 3 and it finally gives us a look at some of our favorite characters in action, if only briefly.
What's great to note is Carl Rodd is present in this trailer. While fans who read The Secret History of Twin Peaks knew he might have a prescene in the series it's nice to see him, connecting the new series even more with Fire Walk With Me. There's only one snippet of dialogue in the trailer, from Hawk. "Really?"
We've also got a teaser that features no characters, dialogue, or story hints. Just establishing shots of different parts of the town.
Showtime also released a series of puzzles to stump Twin Peaks fans. But we know one of the most passionate TV fandoms is up for the challenge. Drop us a note in the comments if you can solve these!

Kyle MacLachlan will return for a damn fine cup of coffee as FBI Agent Dale Cooper.
Along with MacLachlan, Sherilyn Fenn was one of the first series regulars to sign on. Deadline reported that she'll reprise her role as Audrey Horne.
Clearly Albert Rosenfield did not get enough of the morons and half-wits, dolts, dunces, dullards and dumbbells in the town of Twin Peaks. Deadline is reporting that Miguel Ferrer will reprise his role as FBI Agent Albert Rosenfield for the Twin Peaks revival. Ferrer has recently been a regular on NCIS: Los Angeles.
Among the other rumored returnees: Sheryl Lee, who played Laura Palmer, was photographed by paparazzi filming scenes with MacLachlan.
Oscar-nominated actress Laura Dern (Enlightened) will join the revival in a mysterious role according to a report from TVLine. This isn't the first Twin Peaks revival promo we've seen. David Lynch dropped the first one in October 2014:
Grammy-winning composer Angelo Badalamenti will return, too. He'll bring the iconic sound back for the revival after writing the theme music for the original run. Showtime released a video to mark the occasion.
