An upcoming Netflix original film called Little Evil will look to inject a bit of levity into the traditional cinematic depiction of the Antichrist from films such as the 1976 classic The Omen (or its recently cancelled television adaptation Damien). However, the intrigue only widens with the naming of its reported primary stars in Evangeline Lilly and Adam Scott.

According to The Wrap, the Netflix hybrid horror-comedy Little Evil will see former Parks and Recreation star Adam Scott play an everyman named Gary who appears to have locked up the happiest moment of his life, having married the gorgeous and charming Samantha, played by Evangeline Lilly, former star of Lost, The Hobbit films, 2015 Marvel smash Ant-Man and its upcoming 2018 sequel Ant-Man and the Wasp. While Gary had no issues with the fact that Samantha has a six-year-old son named Lucas (Owen Atlas), it seems that he was unaware of a major caveat in this new family dynamic, since little Lucas happens to be the Antichrist!

Thus, swallowing the same bitter pill that Gregory Peck's ambassador Robert Thorn did in The Omen, poor Gary must find a way to adjust… or be enveloped by a vengeful satanic fury. – Did we mention this was a comedy? Lilly and Scott will also appear alongside an array of supporting players such as Clancy Brown, Donald Faison, Chris D’Elia, Brad Williams, Tyler Labine and Marcus Terrell Smith.

Little Evil will be the brainchild of someone who knows a thing or two about horror-comedy combinations with the film being written and directed by Eli Craig. Besides co-writing and directing the 2010 cult classic about a pair of misunderstood backwoods yokels Tucker and Dale vs Evil, Craig was also in the director’s chair for the 2013 failed pilot attempt to adapt Zombieland. Producer Scott Stuber (Ted, Central Intelligence, 47 Ronin) will also be involved by way of Bluegrass Films.

Little Evil will be landing on Netflix sometime in 2017.
