If you didn't get a chance to stop by Syfy's massive Incorporated-inspired diner at this year's San Diego Comic Con, then you might not know that the cable channel has picked up another original drama with some serious cinematic pedigree behind it.

Incorporated, a drama from Spanish writer/directors Alex and David Pastor (Carriers) with Ben Affleck and Matt Damon attached as executive producers, tells the story of a near-future where corporations have unlimited power. So not so different from our present then...

Incorporated Syfy Plot Synopsis

Protagonist Ben Larson (played by Reign's Sean Teale) will be the relatable dude who brings us into this world. Larson is forced to go undercover in the dangerous corporate world in order to save the woman he loves. And guys? The stakes are very high — like life-threatening.

The show also boasts Dennis Haybert (24), David Hewlett (Stargate: SG-1), Ian Tracey (Continuum), Georgina Haig (Once Upon a Time), Eddie Ramos (Teen Wolf) and Julia Ormond (Mad Men) amongst its cast, and will take as its central theme the troubling connection between government and private and/or corporate interests.

"Incorporated is an electrifying example of what science fiction does best: holding a mirror to present realities and projecting forward to a recognizable future in which we face the impact and consequences of our actions," said Syfy president Dave Howe.

Damon and Affleck said of the project: "Incorporated provides us distinct insight into a world dictated by our decisions today. Viewers will delve into the intricacies of our future, one that we are constantly warned of, but as a society have not yet explored."

Here's the official synopsis:

Set in a near future where corporations have unlimited power, Incorporated centers on Ben Larson (Sean Teale, Reign), a young executive who conceals his true identity to survive as a company man. However, when a shocking turn of events forces him to stick his neck out and compromise his position, Ben discovers that climbing the corporate ladder is a game with deadly consequences.  In addition to Teale, Incorporated will star Golden Globe nominee Dennis Haysbert (24) as Julian, Emmy Award winner Julia Ormond (Mad Men) as Elizabeth, Allison Miller (Terra Nova) as Laura and Eddie Ramos (Teen Wolf) as Theo.

The futuristic thriller is from Matt Damon, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Todd's Pearl Street Films, CBS Television Studios and Universal Cable Productions. The series was created by Alex Pastor and David Pastor (Selfless, The Last Days), who both also directed the pilot. Ted Humphrey (The Good Wife) serves as executive producer/showrunner, with Damon, Affleck and Todd also executive producing. Pearl Street Films' Margaret Chernin serves as co-producer.
