This time last year, the anticipation was building for release of The Man in the High Castle’s first season after the pilot set viewing records. Fans had to wait for months between the pilot and the release of the full 10-episode run on Amazon Prime Video, and the cast was mum on spoiling an key details on the adaptation of legendary sci-fi author Philip K. Dick’s alternate history of the aftermath of World War II.
Absent season one showrunner Frank Spotnitz, who left the series in May, the cast came to San Diego Comic-Con with a little more to share, and a first look at The Man in the High Castle season 2.
Here's everything we know about season two...

Man in the High Castle Season 2 Production Notes
Earlier this year, we got the bombshell report out of Amazon Studios that Frank Spotnitz was stepping down as showrunner of Man in the High Castle. Click here for the full story.
The analysis: This may not be as huge of a story as it sounds. Spotnitz was already considered a hands-off showrunner, doing much of his work on the series remotely. He'll remain on as executive producer, free of the day-to-day grind, but still able to consult on a series he heavily helped shape. The series' will remain under the steady hands of the people who brought Philip K. Dick's story to life in season one.
Elsewhere, all has been quiet on the casting news front for the upcoming second season of High Castle. The first reported newcomer will play what appears to be a major role as a key, but mostly absent, figure in Joe’s life.
Sebastian Roche has been cast in a recurring role according to Deadline. The French actor is best known for The CW’s The Originals and his long tenure on the ABC soap General Hospital. He’ll take on the role of Joe’s estranged father, a “wealthy, high-ranking Nazi official based in Berlin who wants to reconnect with his son but would not blink twice about the extermination of the enemies of the Reich.”
When we with spoke with (now solely executive producer) Frank Spotnitz last year, he alluded to the idea that the world of High Castle could extend far beyond the Third Reich or Pacific States.
“There are glimpses of what’s going on with the rest of the planet in the first season,” Spotnitz told Den of Geek. “There are so many issues to explore and it is science fiction so the reason to tell the story is to reflect back on the world we live in right now.”
