In the ramp up to their NYCC panel, the team behind Voltron finally dropped the Season 2 teaser trailer that was shown at SDCC.

So right away we can tell Shiro's in trouble. Is he injured after the events of the season 1 finale? Will Keith be taking over for him as the leader? All I can say is that if he does, he better wear the black outfit because the lack of color coordination between the pilots outfits and their lions in the OG Voltron still bugs me to this day.

We also see various planets that the team lands on, including a rocky world, a world that covers the Green Lion in vines, and a water world. That last in particular is striking, since Hunk and Lance both use their suits to swin to an underwater city. There's a few shots of Zarkon's armies wreaking havoc and some division in the ranks?

The teaster itself is just that, a teaser. Not much plot info is given away and it's just a ton of amazing visuals. If I had to guess, I bet a more plot heavy one will be shown at NYCC.

We were also shown the NYCC Voltron poster and it is a treat, with all the characters in season one making an appearance. My favorite are the Arusians, especially the one who was nearly burned at the stake. Give them an animated series! Or at least some plushies.

As revealed at SDCC and confirmed by the official Voltrontwitter, Season 2 of Voltron Legendary Defender is coming to Netflix, "late 2016".

Some other behind the scenes facts were revealed at the SDCC panel. The showrunners confirmed they aren't allowed to use music from the original series, so if you're missing the original fanfare during the formation sequence, now you know why it's absent. They also said there's a possibility the Balmerians could return but didn't want to spoil anything.

The soundtrack for the series was also dropped on iTunes, with exclusive tracks available to SDCC attendees. Steven Yeun also made a surprise appearance.

The first debuted on Netflix in June, 2016 and was a smash hit with critics and fans alike. You can read our review for the first season here.
