FX is dishing out an October treat for horror fans: The network confirmed American Horror Story season 7, just three episodes into the latest season of the anthology series. They’re touting the premiere of AHS: Roanoke as the third-highest watched show in the network’s history, making it pretty clear that there’s no end in sight for the series created by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk.

Season six currently follows a couple from Los Angeles who move to a mysterious house in North Carolina. There may be demons in the basement, but that’s not stopping viewers from tuning in each Wednesday night in droves.

In a statement, FX CEO John Landgraf praised the American Horror Story team for its consistency:

“Ryan, Brad and their team of remarkable writers have done an amazing job of keeping American Horror Story endlessly inventive, shocking and entertaining and we are honored to move ahead with them on the seventh installment,” said Landgraf. “The sustained success through six installments only proves how intensely the series resonates with fans. AHS confronts our deepest fears with unmatched suspense and style. Each new installment is a cultural event, hotly anticipated for its theme, imagery, cast and twists. We thank the creators and their team, the cast and everyone who has continued to make AHS such an extraordinary series.”
