Dark Shadows Cast to Reunite for 50th Anniversary Event

TV’s original supernatural soap opera stars gather for Dark Shadows 50th Anniversary Halloween In Hollywood

Some shows don't like the idea that they’re dead. Others remain undead, oblivious to the ravages of time and film adaptations. The legendary Dan Curtis production Dark Shadows celebrated its 50th anniversary this year. Many of the actors from the original TV classic will reunite for Dark Shadows 50th Anniversary Halloween In Hollywood, a spookacular Hollywood Halloween Celebration on Saturday, October 29th, from noon to midnight.

Lara Parker, who portrayed the mesmerizingly evil witch Angelique, will be on hand to cast her own special magic. The event will also present the debut of Parker 's new novel Dark Shadows - The Heiress of Collinwood, which will be published in November.

Dark Shadows 50th Anniversary Halloween In Hollywood will also feature special guests John Karlen (vampire caretaker Willie Loomis), Kathryn Leigh Scott (waitress/governess Maggie Evans), Roger Davis (romantic hero Peter Bradford), Nancy Barrett (head-strong heiress Carolyn Stoddard), James Storm (menacing ghost Gerard) and Lisa Richards (werewolf girlfriend Sabrina Stuart). 

The event will also feature Robert Cobert. The Emmy and Grammy-nominated composer will sign copies of the Original Music From Dark Shadows soundtrack. The album hit the Top 20 in 1969 that remains in the Top 10 best-selling television scores of all time. 

Dark Shadows 50th Anniversary Halloween In Hollywood will allow fans to meet the actors, receive complimentary autographs, enjoy a cast reunion with a question-and-answer session, dramatic and musical performances by the stars, rare video screenings, a memorabilia flea market, and a Halloween costume event with the guests.

Dark Shadows debuted in June of 1966 and became a “cult sensation, attracting 20 million housewives and teenagers at its peak each afternoon with spooky tales and alluring characters including the vulnerable vampire Barnabas Collins, played by the late Jonathan Frid,” reads the official press statement. 

After the original Dark Shadows daytime series of 1,225 episodes ended in 1971, the romantic thriller has lived on in reruns, DVDs, a 1990s primetime mini-series, theatrical films (House of Dark Shadow and Night of Dark Shadows), a Johnny Depp-Tim Burton feature film adaptation) and regular fan conventions since 1983.”

Dark Shadows 50th Anniversary Halloween In Hollywood will take place on Saturday, October 29th from 12 Noon to 12 Midnight at the Woman's Club of Hollywood, located at 1749 N. La Brea Avenue in Hollywood. Admission is $20 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under.
