Nexflix is in talks to air Seven Seconds, from the creator of The Killing, Veena Sud, and the director of The Accountant, Gavin O'Connor.

After rescuing The Killing from AMC’s cancelation and airing the final the six episodes, Netflix is once vying to work with creator Veena Sud on new original programming.
Negotiations are currently ongoing between Netflix and Fox 21 TV Studios for Sud’s newest project, Seven Seconds, a 10-episode drama series. Seven Seconds will be the first original series brought to Netflix by Fox 21 TV Studios after the pair worked together on the fourth season of Arrested Development.
Written by Sud, Seven Seconds aims to meditate on the issues dominating cable news, telling a story about racial tension in America. The series will center on a Jersey City neighborhood that is torn apart after an African American teenage boy is injured by Caucasian police officers. Gavin O’Connor, who currently has the number one film in America, The Accountant, is attached to direct. Sud will executive produce the series along with O’Connor, Lawrence Bender, Kevin Brown and Alex Reznik.
Netflix seems to be an odd home for Seven Seconds. Though Sud and Fox 21 TV Studios both have some history with the streaming giant, Fox 21 TV Studios’ parent company Twentieth Century Fox recently sued Netflix, claiming that Netflix had been “poaching” its employees.
We’ll keep you posted on Seven Seconds as more details emerge.
