What's west of Westworld?

HBO is grooming Westworld to become the new Game of Thrones, aka a big ratings draw, for the premium cable channel and, so far, it's going pretty well. The western-science fiction show hit 12 million viewers (including streaming) with last week's episode. But does the connection between these two shows stop at their shared studio/channel status or is there a chance at a crossover? Here's what Westworld creator Jonathan Nolan told Entertainment Weekly...
Apparently, Nolan (and Westworld co-creator Lisa Joy) already discussed the possibility of crossing over over dinner. It's not such a crazy idea, actually, given that — in the original Westworld film — the theme park also offers Roman World and Medieval World. Who's to say that Medieval World isn't Westeros (talk about a mindtrip).
Nlan had only wonderful things to say about Martin, gushing: "He’s a lovely guy and a stunning writer and it’s flattering he would encourage a crossover. We should be so lucky." However, he downplayed the chances of a crossover between Westworld and Game of Thrones, saying: "I need to be believe that dragons are real. I want them be a real thing. So as much as I love George, I can’t lose that for myself!"
Um, that's kind of the best reason ever. Nolan is against a Game of Thrones crossover because, as nihilistic as the fantasy drama can get, it's nowhere near as nihilistic as Westworld's constant questioning of what is and isn't real. In other words: Don't take dragons from Jonathan Nolan, HBO — no matter how tempting it might be.
