Comedy Bang! Bang! to Bang Its Last Bang After Five Seasons

Comedy Bang! Bang! Season 5 will be its last.

Weird Al was just starting on his new day gig and the show is already getting a pink slip. IFC announced that Comedy Bang! Bang! season 5 will feel the fizzle. Ten more episodes and but that’s it. Comedy Bang! Bang! stars series host Scott Aukerman and musical co-host “Weird Al” Yankovic. The series’ final ten episodes are set to air starting Friday, October 28, with two back-to-back episodes at 11:00 p.m. 11:30 p.m.

“After a celebrated and star-studded four-year run,” the absurdist late-night parody’s finale will air December 10. The remaining episodes will air weekly, back-to-back on Fridays

Comedy Bang! Bang! has been an incredibly important show for IFC. Over five seasons and more than 100 episodes, Scott Aukerman has been a comedic force who has meant so much to us," said Jennifer Caserta, IFC president.

Comedy Bang! Bang! debuted in 2012. It was created and hosted by Scott Aukerman, whose beloved bandleaders throughout the years include Reggie Watts, Kid Cudi, and most recently “Weird Al” Yankovic.

"Comedy Bang! Bang! had a unique sensibility in the comedy space, and delivered an amazing array of A-list guest stars. Scott and his team worked with our advertising partners in ways that were as buzzy as the jokes. We are proud to celebrate Comedy Bang! Bang! across this final 10-episode send-off and appreciate everything it has meant to IFC."

Comedy Bang! Bang! famously features untraditional celebrity interviews, intermingled with surprising guest stars and musical moments.  The series’ final episodes will feature Malin Akerman (Billions, Childrens Hospital), Mike Colter (Jessica Jones, The Good Wife), Kaley Cuoco (The Big Bang Theory, The Wedding Ringer), singer-songwriter Ben Folds, Gillian Jacobs (Love, Community), Allison Janney (Mom, Masters of Sex), Jason Mantzoukas (The League, Dirty Grandpa), Haley Joel Osment (The Spoils Before Dying, Entourage), Chris Parnell (Saturday Night Live), Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones), Adam Scott (Parks & Recreation), Paul F. Tompkins (BoJack Horseman, Bajillion Dollar Properie$), Matt Walsh (Veep), and the return of former co-host Reggie Watts (The Late Late Show with James Corden).

Comedy Bang! Bang! Season 5 episodes will be available on the new IFC mobile app after their premiere broadcasts. Comedy Bang! Bang! Seasons 1-4 are available on Netflix.
