Well, Scream season 3 is still alive.

It’s not often you see a non-anthology show go for a full reboot in its third season. After a leadership shakeup, MTV believes it has gone as far as it could go with the original cast of its Scream adaptation. A Deadline report indicates that the network is looking for a new showrunner to reset Scream with a fresh premise and cast.
Call it a reimagining of a reimagining. Scream: The TV Series, an adaptation of Kevin Williamson’s film franchise, premiered in 2015. It was renewed for a 14 episode second season, including two special Halloween episodes, and finished its run in October 2016. All had been quiet on the Scream front until now.
The series changed showrunners after season one, and appears they’ll do so again as they ready for season three. There was a big ratings drop off from season one to season two, so MTV hopes a reboot will spark renewed interest in Scream.
We'll keep you posted on Scream Season 3 cast, release date, and trailer news as we have it.
