IFC is keeping it Brockmire. The baseball comedy will return in 2018 for season 2.

IFC is making a double play for Brockmire right out of the gate. The network is confident the Hank Azaria comedy will be a winner as it confirmed Brockmire season 2 for 2018 ahead of tonight’s premiere episode.
Like the first season, Brockmire season 2 will consist of eight episodes.
A good nonlinear showing made the decision an easy one for IFC, which released the premiere episode online and on VOD a week ago. To date, 2.4 million people have viewed the first episode of Brockmire on Facebook alone. That’s already a larger audience than IFC’s other original comedies.
On the renewal, Azaria said in a statement: “This show is the most fun I’ve ever had. Well, the most fun I've ever had while working, anyway. It is truly my favorite thing I've ever done. Well, while being filmed, that is. Thanks to IFC for letting us do whatever we wanted to. Well, mostly."
Brockmire is produced by Funny or Die and is based on a 2010 viral short from the comedy site. The series stars Azaria as broadcaster Jim Brockmire, who after an epic public tantrum looks to make a comeback after being courted by a minor league baseball team owner played by Amanda Peet.
