Selina Meyer may not get a presidential library, but Veep will get a season 7.

President Selina Meyer was ripped from the White House by unprecedented ties in the electoral college and House of Representatives, but Veep season 7 was voted into HBO by a landslide. The premium network renewed the Emmy-winning political sitcom starring Julia Louis-Dreyfus for a 2018 premiere. Veep’s season 6 finale will air on HBO on June 25th.
Veepcostars two time Emmy-winner Tony Hale, Emmy nominees Anna Chlumsky, Matt Walsh and Gary Cole, and Reid Scott, Timothy Simons, Sam Richardson, Kevin Dunn and, according to the press release Sufe Bradshaw, who hasn’t put in an appearance yet this season.
The former president was discouraged from making a second attempt at the presidency by her chief of staff Ben, who told her no one wanted to see comeback. But, in spite of a drop in viewership from season 6, HBO knows that its audience wants to see her keep running.
Veep was created by Armando Iannucci who was nominated for an Academy Award for co-writing the Tony Blaire era political film In the Loop. It is executive produced by David Mandel, Frank Rich, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Lew Morton and Morgan Sackett.
Dreyfus won the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series five years in a row.
Veep won two best comedy Emmys and took home the best directing comedy series trophy at the DGA Awards
